Teen Driver Seriously Hurt In Collision With School Bus In Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — A teenage driver was seriously injured Friday morning in a collision with a school bus in Lake Elsinore.

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. at Canyon Ridge and Summerhill drives.

The California Highway Patrol said the Lake Elsinore Unified School District bus made a left turn in front of a white Honda Prelude, which then ended up underneath the bus.

The driver of the car, Ryan Geiger, 18, had to be cut out of the wreckage and was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.

The bus driver was later taken to the hospital.

The kids on the bus, who were being taken to Canyon Lake Middle School, were not hurt.

Officers said there was no texting, drugs or alcohol involved in the incident.
