Traffic Stop Leads To Driver's Arrest After Officers Reportedly Find Child Porn
FONTANA (AP) — Police in San Bernardino County say a traffic stop led to them arresting the driver for allegedly having child pornography.
The Press-Enterprise reports that Fontana police officers noticed Robert Steven Romero deleting items from his cell phone's memory.
Officers obtained a search warrant for Romero's vehicle and home and allegedly discovered several photos that appeared to depict child porn.
The 27-year-old Romero was booked Friday for investigation of possessing child pornography and a prior arrest warrant charging him with misdemeanor peeping. His bail was set at $100,000.
The sheriff's custody website says Romero remains in a detention center with court appearances scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday.
