4 Injured In Alleged Racially Motivated Fight At Twin Towers Jail

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — An alleged racially motivated fight Tuesday involving dozens of inmates at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles left four people injured.

The skirmish, which lasted nearly 90 seconds, was reported around 12:10 p.m. in the third floor recreation area in Tower One of the lockup, which is located in the 400 block of Bauchet Street.

The four hurt inmates suffered cuts and bruises and were transported to the hospital.

A number of other inmates were also injured, but they were treated at the scene.

It's unclear what races were involved in the incident, according to sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

The investigation is ongoing.
