Long Beach Police Officer Injured After Suspect Smashes Stolen Car Into Cruiser
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Long Beach police officer was injured early Monday morning after a suspected car thief rammed a stolen vehicle into a patrol car.
The officer was injured around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Elm Avenue and 59th Street, officials said.
According to authorities, the officer was searching for a stolen white sedan when the suspect's vehicle collided with the officer's cruiser.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage.
The officer was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, Long Beach police said.
The suspect fled the scene on foot.
