LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday said the Beverly Center was evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious package.
[UPDATE 4 p.m.] Authorities have given the all-clear and said the suspicious package was nothing dangerous. The Beverly Center and Beverly Boulevard were both reopened just after 4 p.m., reports CBS2’s Louisa Hodge.
The package was reported to police by a shopper who found it inside their vehicle. The car was parked in the mall’s garage.
The incident began to unfold about 1 p.m.
Shortly thereafter, Los Angeles police and a bomb squad unit were dispatched to the three-story mall at 8500 Beverly Boulevard.
The reporting party told police they’re involved in an ongoing dispute and suspect the other party of placing the package inside their car.
