CULVER CITY (CBSLA.com) — A new, hot restaurant in Culver City offers healthy, great-tasting meals for a variety of different taste buds.
LYFE Kitchen, located on Washington Boulevard, serves everything from Gluten-free to vegan to meat foods.
“LYFE Kitchen stands for ‘Love Your Food Every Day.’ It’s a lifestyle restaurant. People from all walks of life can come in and eat here. Everything is under 600 calories. We take the thinking away from you. You just come and enjoy the food,” said Executive Chef Tal Ronnen.
Ronnen, a celebrated vegan chef (Oprah’s favorite), said he has a few tricks up his sleeve to make dishes healthier than they may appear.
“We have a corn chowder, which instead of heavy cream, we use cashew cream. We take raw cashews, we soak them overnight, and then blend them with purified water and you get cream that has that silky texture of heavy cream, but no cholesterol,” he said.
LYFE Kitchen is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most dishes cost $10.
