Lake Los Angeles Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Neighbor After Argument
LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A man was under arrest Wednesday after he allegedly shot and killed his next-door neighbor near Lake Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 38600 block of 159th Street East, officials said.
According to authorities, 58-year-old Michael Norton and his neighbor were drinking in a garage and a verbal argument ensued.
"After their verbal disagreement, the suspect walked back to his house . . . and some time later returned back to the victim's house and shot the victim," Lt. Eddie Hernandez said.
The unidentified man, who was shot in the head, died at the scene, according to authorities.
The victim was a single father of two children who were both home at the time of the shooting, Lt. Hernandez said.
Norton was arrested at the scene and is being held on $1 million bail.
The murder is under investigation.
