LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday said a USC student was killed and two other people were injured in an overnight crash in South Los Angeles.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about about five miles southwest of the campus at Hyde Park and West boulevards at 2:55 a.m.
Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said two people were rushed to area hospitals.
Their conditions were not immediately known and it was not know if they too were affiliated to the university.
Sunday evening, authorities identified the deceased as 22-year-old Xinhai Huang, an electrical engineering major and dean’s list honors student at USC’s Viterbi School.
The case remains under investigation.
