Crawford 0 For 3 In 1st Appearance For Dodgers

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Carl Crawford made his first appearance in a Dodgers' uniform — a green one at that — going 0 for 3 as a Los Angeles split squad beat the Milwaukee Brewers 11-1 Sunday.

Los Angeles obtained Crawford from the Boston Red Sox on Aug. 25, two days after he had surgery on his left elbow. Crawford had not played in a game since Aug. 19; his spring training was slowed when he felt nerve irritation on March 1.

Crawford, the Dodgers' designated hitter, flied out to center and twice grounded out to shortstop.

Adrian Gonzalez, obtained in the same trade along with Josh Beckett, hit a three-run homer off a slider from Yovani Gallardo in the first and a two-run homer in the fifth against Brad Kintzler. Mark Ellis also homered in the inning.

Los Angeles starter Hyun-Jin Ryu allowed one run and three hits in 5 2-3 innings, striking out six and walking two. Gallardo gave up three runs and five hits in two innings.
