Police Searching For Woman Who Allegedly Abducted Her 8-Year-Old Son

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Officials are asking for the public's help in locating an 8-year-old boy who they suspect has been abducted by his mother.

Adriana Joriel Johns, 27, lost custody of her son, 8-year-old Jounel Armon Taylor, in December to the boy's grandmother, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

The boy spent the night at his mother's house on March 6 and she was supposed to take him to school the next day.

Taylor never arrived at school.

Police say Johns fled with her son and has stopped communicating with her mother.

Investigators described Taylor as black, 4 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds.

They described Johns as 5 foot 8 inches, 145 pounds and having medium brown hair and brown eyes.

Johns doesn't own a vehicle. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Officials ask anyone with information as to their whereabouts to contact Detective Trapnell at (310) 458-2256, Sergeant Thruston at (310) 458-8414 or the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8495. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call WeTip at 1-800-78-CRIME (1-800-78-27463).
