Rain, Snow May Cause Traffic Tie-Ups Around The Southland

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Portions of Angeles Forest Highway and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest were closed Thursday tonight due to snow and icy conditions.

Rain and snow storms around the Southland Thursday evening gave drivers pause.

CBS2's Brittney Hopper reported from Running Springs where officials began requiring drivers to have chains on their tires.

Meanwhile, CBS2's Jeff Nguyen reported that snow was falling consistently along the Grapevine -- but not sticking.

Traffic updates are available on the Department of Public Works' CARE website.

Additional information on road closures is also available by following the department's Twitter account, @dpwCARE.
