Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Mar. 5)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Look for some more marine layer this morning and cooler temperatures as a system approaches the area from the north.

Today's highs will be about 5 to 8 degrees below average. By tomorrow the first cold front moves through the area. The best chances at measurable rain will be for Santa Barbara County and points north.

Right now the forecast models are pretty dry as this front pushes through. Our first chance for rain will be later on Wednesda with nothing more than .10" at best. Snow levels will start out at 5500' and lower to 4500'. Then the center of the low drops down and closes off. This will slow its movement and we will feel the effects of it from Thursday through Friday with unsettled weather.

The best chance at steady rainfall from this second wave will be Friday. By Friday, expect snow levels to drop down to 3000'which would put the Grapevine in jeopardy. We should clear out later Saturday and Sunday.

We'll see some 70s next week.

Coast-low 60s
Basin-low to mid 60s
Valleys-mid 60s
Mountains-low 50s
Deserts--upper 60s
