LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A statewide fundraiser held by California Pizza Kitchen raised $75,000 for the families of two slain peace officers killed in the Christopher Dorner manhunt.
CEO G.J. Hart presented the check Monday afternoon to Riverside Police Officers’ Association (RPOA) and the Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Team (S.E.A.T) to support the families of Riverside police officer Michael Crain and San Bernardino County Detective Jeremiah MacKay.
Both men were allegedly shot and killed by Dorner.
CPK held the fundraiser last week at all California locations. The restaurant chain donated 20 percent of all participating checks from patrons who brought in a fundraising flyer.
