Off-Duty Cop Involved In OIS In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An 0ff-duty police officer fired his gun once at three men who were allegedly assaulting him Sunday in Moreno Valley.

None of the suspects was hit by the gunfire and all three were eventually taken into custody, according to authorities.

Deputies got a call just after 10:15 a.m. indicating an officer fired his weapon.

The incident occurred at Saddlebrook and Red Maple Lanes, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Cpl. Robert Martinez.

The off-duty officer was not injured. The shooting is under investigation.
