Memorial Service Planned For Victims Of Deadly Tour Bus Crash

MENTONE (CBSLA.com) — A memorial service is being held Sunday to remember the eight people killed in a tour bus crash near Yucaipa one month ago.

A 1 p.m. vigil will take place at First Baptist Church of Big Bear Valley in the 41900 block of Big Bear Boulevard.

The Feb. 3 accident left 27 others injured when the tour bus rolled over on Highway 38 near Bryant Street.

The bus, which was returning to Tijuana, Mexico, was carrying 38 passengers at the time.

Two of the crash survivors have since filed lawsuits against the owners of the bus; the charter company and bus driver, Norberto B. Perez.

Organizers of the vigil said that they are not in direct contact with the victims' families. They explained that many relatives of the victims have been holding weekly vigils.
