Homicide Detectives Investigate Human Remains Found Near Gilman Springs

GILMAN SPRINGS (CBSLA.com)  — Human remains were found near Gilman Springs Friday about 100 yards off the roadway, according to officials.

Sheriff's detectives investigated the find as a homicide, a sergeant said Sunday.

Witnesses found the remains off Gilman Springs Road and Jack Rabbit Trail, according to County sheriff's Sgt. Tyson Voss.

The identity of the person and a cause of death was not revealed. Detectives with the sheriff's Central Homicide took over the investigation on Saturday.

An autopsy is scheduled, Voss said.
