3 Teens Shot -- 1 Critically Wounded -- In LA Drive-By

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One teen is critical and two others wounded after they were shot in a drive-by in Los Angeles Saturday evening.

The shooting occurred in South Los Angeles.

Officials said the incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. at 53rd and Figueroa Streets.

According to Sgt. Rudy Alaniz of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station, the three teens were standing outside when a car drove by and fired.

The critical teen was shot in the chest.

One other teen was shot in the back, another was shot in the arm. Neither injury is considered life-threatening.

Police said the two non-critical victims had stable vital signs and were both being tended to at an area hospital.

Alaniz said it was "highly likely" the shooting was connected to gang activity.
