Emma Zen Foundation To Donate Pet Oxygen Masks For Ventura Co. Fire Engines

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — The Emma Zen Foundation will donate nearly 100 pet oxygen masks to the Ventura County Fire Department Thursday.

The Orange County-based foundation will provide the fire engines with three different sized masks.

The Emma Zen Foundation President Debra-Jo Chiapuzio told KNX 1070's Ed Mertz and Jan Stevens the masks are specifically designed to fit muzzles and snouts of a wide range of household pets.

"The small works on somebody as small as a baby kitten, or a tiny puppy or even a bird," Chiapuzio said. "I actually have a 105-pound Great Dane and she's got plenty of room inside of the large mask."

The non-profit organization raises funds to donate the masks, which allow constant and direct flow of clean oxygen to pets suffering from smoke asphyxiation and other breathing difficulties, to fire departments.
