LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Sunday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting in South Los Angeles that left a man in critical condition.

The incident occurred late Saturday evening near the intersection of 92st and Vermont Avenue.

Deputies said in a department statement that the victim was riding his bicycle when he was shot multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital where he underwent surgery.

The suspect was believed to be traveling on foot, the statement said.
