UPDATE: Ruiz’s family tells CBS2 that she’s been found safe.

WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — The family of a college student not seen since Friday is concerned about her whereabouts.

Magdelena Ruiz, 19, attends Rio Hondo College in Whittier and is described as “a good student.”

She was last seen about 6 a.m. Friday on her way to school.

Her family says Maggie, as they call her, needs medication for schizophrenia.

It is not like her to not stay in contact with her family.

Ruiz is 5 feet 4 inches.
