COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — One man has been killed and a second wounded following a shooting outside a motorcycle club in the city of Compton.

Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s-Homicide Bureau says the shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South Long Beach Boulevard.

“About 5:30 a.m. this morning, a couple of individuals got into an argument out in front of a motorcycle club in the city of Compton called the Brothers of the Sun,” Corina said. “One pulled out a gun, shot two individuals.”

The deceased, identified as a Black male, was approximately 38-39 years of age. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim, also a Black man, was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

“The incident appears to be gang-related and we’re still investigating at this time. We don’t have any suspects in custody,” Corina said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the LASD-Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
