SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — Fire investigators sought the public’s help Friday in identifying the person(s) responsible for igniting more than a dozen fires in the northeast San Fernando Valley.
The intentionally set blazes were reported between Nov. 4 and Feb. 18 near San Fernando Road and Polk Street, leaving local Italian Cypress trees damaged, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Nearly half of the fires occurred south of San Fernando, officials said.
Anyone with information about the fires was urged to call arson investigators at (213) 893-9850. Anyone seeing an arson in progress should call 911.
