The pursuit began just after 1 a.m. in Redondo Beach after local police responded to a burglary call and discovered that a 2012 BMW was stolen.
The California Highway Patrol spotted the white sedan on the southbound 405 Freeway and a pursuit ensued.
The unidentified suspect exited the freeway at Studebaker and the chase was picked up by the Long Beach Police Department, officials said.
Authorities followed the suspect to a residential neighborhood near Palo Verde Avenue and Los Coyotes Diagonal where he crashed the vehicle into a garage in the 6400 block of Keynote Street near Hackett Avenue.
