Stolen Vehicle Suspect Leads Police On High-Speed Pursuit Through Valley

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A stolen vehicle suspect led police on a high-speed chase through the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday.

The pursuit began around 10:10 a.m. on surface streets in Van Nuys after Los Angeles police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen Nissan Pathfinder.

Police reported that the suspect was driving erratically before he got on the westbound 118 Freeway in Northridge.

The unidentified male suspect then led authorities onto the southbound 405 Freeway where speeds reached upwards of 70 mph.

The suspect ultimately exited the 405 Freeway at Pico Boulevard in West Los Angeles just before 10:45 a.m. CHP officers conducted a PIT maneuver, stopping the suspect's vehicle.

He was arrested without incident.
