Icy Conditions Shut Down 5 Freeway Through The Grapevine
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Interstate 5 through the Grapevine was shut down in both directions Wednesday morning due to weather.
The California Highway Patrol issued the Sig Alert just around 6:30 a.m. due to icy conditions.
The northbound Grapevine was closed at Parker Road and the southbound I-5 is closed at Grapevine Road.
The Sig Alert was later lifted around 9:40 a.m. after officials determined the road was safe to travel on with the assistance of escorts.
Meanwhile, early Wednesday morning a six car pileup shut down northbound Interstate 15.
