Los Angeles Duo Drops By KCAL9 To Discuss Being Contestants On Upcoming 'Amazing Race'
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles residents Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena will be among 11 teams competing this season on the acclaimed "The Amazing Race."
The 22nd season starts Sunday (CBS, 8 p.m. PT).
Graceffa and Camarena were in studio guests on the KCAL9 News at 2 p.m. Friday. They were here to discuss how they traveled together, their relationship, a new twist to the competition and why they signed up for the competition. Graceffa and Camarena are "Friends" and "Youtube Hosts."
Top prize on "Amazing Race" is $1 million. That perhaps answers the "why they signed up" part.
The show has won the Emmy Award for "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" nine times in the past 10 years.
CBS says this season's diverse cast includes twin brothers who are both OB/GYNs, father/son cancer survivors, Southern firefighters, roller derby moms and female country singers.
