ANGELUS OAKS (CBSLA.com) — CBS2 News is the only station to get a firsthand look at what may have been a weapon used by Christopher Dorner.
An Angelus Oaks resident made a startling discovery Friday morning when he found a weapon believed to be used by Dorner in the snow.
The man, who was walking in the area, found a P-22, long barrel with a suppressor.
He then called the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, which sent deputies to retrieve the weapon.
The man, who was at the site moments after the crash on Tuesday, said he was stopped by police.
“As we pulled up, they stopped us and they thought he was in our vehicle,” he said.
He says he wanted to come back to see where the 10-day ordeal – which claimed the lives of four people, as well as Dorner – finally came to an end.
