LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Steve Martin and his wife have welcomed a new baby into their home, according to news reports.

The New York Post first broke the news and claims the baby was born in December. A representative for Martin confirmed the report to People magazine.

“They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,” a source told the Post. “Steve’s very private.”

The 67-year-old actor, his 41-year-old wife, Anne Stringfield, and the baby — whose name and gender have not been released — have been spotted near their Los Angeles home, according to a Los Angeles Times blog.
