LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A blizzard pounding the nation’s northeast region forced the cancellation of dozens of flights in and out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), officials have announced.
A statement issued by the airport says the cancellations by five airlines impacted a total of 63 flights to and from three airports on the East Coast.
They included New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) were cancelled.
Officials ask that travelers headed to that region check and confirm the status of their flights before arriving to the airport. Click here for flight status information.
“LAX officials are continuing to monitor weather conditions in the northeast and will update as necessary,” the statement said.
