Suspects Sought In West Covina Murder Of Chinese Tourist

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Police on Friday released composite drawings of two suspects wanted in connection with a robbery at a West Covina shopping center that left a Chinese tourist dead.

Sheron Khemlani, 29, of Hong Kong, and his brother were returning to their parked vehicle on Feb. 1 at about 2:30 p.m. at “The Curve” Center located at 147 N. Barranca when they were approached by two hooded suspects, according to West Covina Police.

After the victim was killed by a gunshot to the head, the suspects entered a newer model blue 4-door vehicle driven by a third suspect which sped away at a high rate of speed through the parking lot, leaving in an unknown direction.

Police said a bag containing undisclosed amount of cash, identification, and other personal items was stolen.

All three suspects are described as being male 18-22 years old, light complexion, thin builds. Both the driver and bag grabber have no facial hair. The two that approached the victims had hooded sweatshirts with hoods over head, while the driver is described as having short black spiked hair and appeared to have acne or pocked face.
