LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 12-year-old boy charged will be arraigned Friday, charged with making a prank emergency call that sent police to Ashton Kutcher’s home.
The unidentified minor is facing two felony counts each of making a false bomb threat and computer intrusion. He will be arraigned at the Eastlake Juvenile Court.
The boy made the phony call on Oct. 3 that sent heavily-armed officers to Kutcher’s LA-area home.
He is also accused of making a bogus emergency call a week later, prompting police to respond to a Wells Fargo Bank on Wilshire on Oct. 10.
The prank, known as swatting, has become a recurring problem for Los Angeles-area law enforcement agencies. It is typically aimed at celebrities’ homes.
