Man To Be Arraigned On Suspicion Of Murder In Deadly Hollywood Nightclub Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 22-year-old Los Angeles man suspected in a deadly shooting outside a Hollywood nightclub is expected to be arraigned Monday.

Robert Earl Thomas was arrested in Las Vegas Jan. 17 on suspicion of shooting 19-year-old Andre Lowe around 2 a.m. on Jan. 13 at the Empire Night Club on N. Cahuenga Blvd.

"Basically, the club was shutting down. We were on our way out. A couple girls got into a scuffle. A couple guys tried to get involved to break it up and while that was going on I guess the guys got a little heated," witness Jeffrey Valera said.

"Heard a few threatening statements, heard a few slurs, and after that, I heard a few terms that mean gun and about five seconds later, some gunshots happened. Three, four or five gunshots. I just grabbed my little brother and pulled him down behind a car and we just ducked down," Valera said.

Lowe was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Thomas was extradited from Las Vegas Monday.
