MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was injured during an officer-involved shooting in Monterey Park Thursday night.

The incident, which involved Monterey Park police, happened around 8:25 p.m. in the 1000 block of Brightwood Street.

No officers were hurt, but the suspect was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is assisting in the investigation.
