HEMET (CBSLA.com) — Someone built her a house. They bring blankets.

People bring her food and water every day. An abandoned pit bull in Hemet (on a field, just south of Stetson Avenue) even has her own Facebook page (Save Our Roadie, 504 “likes” and counting).

But the dog doesn’t have anyone taking her home.  The skittish pit won’t let anyone get within 50 feet of her — not even Animal Control.

Her Facebook page notes that officials have made several attempts to capture her, but all to no avail. The page notes Roadie is “very timid….nervous, but never aggressive.”

Roadie was abandoned sometime this past August.
