LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two Southern California residents are $156,712 richer after coming oh-so-close in Friday’s $89 million Mega Millions drawing.
The tickets (one sold in Chino, the other in Dana Point) matched five of the winning numbers but failed to match the Mega number.
The winner numbers chosen Friday were 11, 12, 17, 31 and 48. The Mega number was 1.
The 5/5 tickets were sold at Super Stop Liquor in Dana Point (34449 Golden Lantern) and at an Arco gas station in Chino (5715 Riverside Drive.)
Five tickets matched four numbers and the Mega. Those tickets are worth $17,095 a piece.
The $89 million ticket was purchased in New Jersey.
