SANTA ANA (AP) — Prosecutors say a convicted felon who had been deported to Mexico then returned to California has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for breaking into Orange County bedrooms and touching women and girls as they slept, including sexual assaults on girls 11 and 13 years old.
A district attorney’s statement says 50-year-old Roberto Reyes was sentenced Friday for six felonies committed during five attacks around Santa Ana in 2009 and 2010 on victims whose ages ranged from seven to 22.
In some cases Reyes just tickled or touched the victims’ feet before fleeing when they awoke, but in others touched their breasts and genitals.
DNA from crime scenes matched a sample Reyes gave in a 2003 burglary conviction that led to four years in prison and deportation.
