DEVORE (CBSLA.com) — A 27-year-old San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy is on paid administrative leave Thursday after being arrested for having sex with a female inmate.

Johnathan V. Miller was arrested Wednesday for having sexual contact with a consenting inmate, the sheriff’s department said.

Jail staff at the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center, 18000 West Institution Road, in Devore were recently tipped off about an inappropriate relationship between Miller and a 25-year-old inmate.

“An investigation began immediately and Johnathan Miller was interviewed and a search warrant was served at his residence,” sheriff’s officials said.

Miller was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center. He posted $25,000 bail and was released from custody at 1:44 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

The investigation into the relationship is ongoing. The female inmate was not identified by authorities.

A mug shot for Miller was not released.
