Resident In Grave Condition After Being Pulled From NoHo Apartment Fire

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A resident was pulled in grave condition from an apartment fire in North Hollywood Wednesday night, authorities reported.

The blaze was reported at 10:44 p.m. in the rear of a two-story apartment building at 6737 Denny Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey said.

The fire was confined to a single apartment on the first floor.

Crews took a person from that apartment and tried to resuscitate them in the building's courtyard, Sky2's Gil Leyvas reported.

Nearly 40 firefighters responded and had the blaze knocked down in 18 minutes, Humphrey said.

Officials have not released further details.
