Detectives Looking For Suspect Who Fatally Shot Man, 27

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives in LAPD's Hollenbeck division are asking the public's help to identify the suspect they say shot and killed a 27-year-old man on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 10:15 p.m. The shooting occurred in the 5100 block of Huntington Drive.

Authorities arrived to find the victim -- identified as Angel Serna Mancilla -- lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Fire Department personnel rendered aid to the victim and transported him to a nearby hospital.

Mancilla succumbed to his wounds Sunday morning at County USC Medical. He reportedly died during surgery.

An investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect had had an argument prior to the shooting. The victim was buying a taco from a taco truck at the time of the shooting. What started the argument is unknown. The suspect pulled out a handgun, shot Mancilla several times, got into a white sedan and fled. There is no further description of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the murder is asked to contact Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives Kirkland or Ramirez at (323) 342-8953 or (323) 342-8969.
