STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — High schools across California and the nation have a chance to compete in an art contest by Vans shoes.
Project Manager Scott Byrer appeared on KCAL9 News on Saturday morning to discuss the Custom Culture program.
The program, which was created in 2010, gives schools a chance to design shoes for a shot at winning $50,000 — the top prize.
Byrer says the program’s aim is to raise awareness of the importance of art in education and give teens a chance to express themselves.
