OC Tattoo Artist Allegedly Lured Teen Girls With Promise Of Free Ink, Alcohol

DANA POINT (CBSLA.com) — A 29-year-old tattoo artist from Mission Viejo has been accused of molesting two teenage girls after luring them into his apartment with the promise of free ink and alcohol.

Giovani Nieves-Vera was arrested Tuesday after the 14-year-olds informed sheriff's investigators about the inappropriate sexual behavior that allegedly took place last December.

Officials said the suspect reportedly contacted one of the girls on Facebook and offered her a free tattoo, drugs and alcohol.

The girl and her friend then met at Nieves-Vera's home Dec. 15.

"He invited the girls to go to his home. Once they were inside the home, he made sexual advances toward them. He engaged in highly inappropriate conduct with the 14-year-old girls," said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Last week, undercover officers posed as the victims on Facebook and set up a meeting with the suspect at Dana Point Harbor.

There, Nieves-Vera was taken into custody by the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force.

The suspect, who is being held without bail, was booked on suspicion of child molestation and communicating with a minor online for sexual purposes.

Authorities said Nieves-Vera was deported in 2007 after serving three years in state prison for child annoyance.
