LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man allegedly fired multiple shots at police from an apartment complex in a Harbor Gateway neighborhood Tuesday night.

Officers from the LAPD’s Southeast Division were conducting a traffic stop at the corner of Rosecrans and Vermont avenues when they were fired upon just before 10 p.m.

Authorities immediately locked down the surrounding area and began to search the building for the reported gunman.

Some people were trapped inside a 7-Eleven convenience store near the apartment while the standoff was underway, according to Sky2′s Stu Mundel.

No one was injured in the incident.
