SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Police in Simi Valley subdued a bleeding man — who was wielding a kitchen knife — Saturday afternoon.

The man, later identified as 34-year-old Eric Logue of Simi Valley, was reportedly walking eastbound 1n the 1700 block of Royal Avenue when police encountered him.

Logue was wielding a kitchen knife in his right hand, said authorities.  Officials said Logue had several self-inflicted knife wounds on his left wrist. He refused repeated requests to drop the knife, said authorities.
