NEW YORK (CBSLA.com) — Internet wunderkind Aaron Swartz was found dead Saturday morning in his Brooklyn, New York apartment.
Swartz was a pioneer in Internet technologies. He co-founded the popular site Reddit.com. He is also credited with coming up with an early version of what is now an RSS feed.
The policy-based website Demandprogress.com was another site he founded.
A relative confirms that Swartz took his own life. It is believed Swartz hanged himself.
Swartz faced several legal challenges stemming from alleged computer hacking. He was scheduled to go on trial later this year for hacking federal documents.
His family says Swartz was battling depression.
