SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run Thursday morning that left a father of ten dead.

Miguel Chavez Ceja, 75, was walking near Stanford Street and Orange Avenue at 6:40 a.m. when he was struck by a dark blue 1995 BMW 740iL, Santa Ana police said.

Ceja, who was visiting from Mexico, was declared dead at the scene, according to authorities.

At 9:53 Saturday morning, a citizen said they saw a dark blue BMW 740iL at the intersection of First Street and Grand Avenue that matched the suspect vehicle.

Officers stopped the vehicle at Main Street and Columbine Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police.

Upon further inspection, officials determined the debris on the car matched debris found at the crime scene.

The driver was identified as Victor Manuel Arredondo Anaya.

Anaya and a passenger in his car were both taken in for questioning. The unidentified passenger was later released.
