The couple got married in April 2001 and has two children, daughters aged 5 and 8.

"I am happy to say that Vanessa and I are moving on with our lives together as a family," said Kobe on facebook. "When the show ends and the music stops, the journey is made beautiful by having that someone to share it with. Thank you all for your support and prayers! Much luv, Mamba out."

Vanessa Bryant famously stood by her husband in 2003 when he was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old hotel worker in Colorado. The assault case was dropped the following year when the alleged victim refused to testify in the trial.

If the divorce completed, Kobe would had to pay Vanessa $75 million as part of the settlement.

The Bryants did not have a prenup. He reportedly," loved her too much for one."
