Hit Man Gets 25 Years To Life For Chopping Off OC Man's Fingers With Machete
SANTA ANA (AP) — A convicted hit man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for using a machete to chop off an Orange County man's fingers and fracture his nose.
A district attorney spokeswoman says 26-year-old Antonio Cinco Ortega was sentenced Friday after a jury convicted him of attempted murder and other charges in November.
Ortega was hired by his co-defendants Michael Calvin Shores and Mary Katheryn Sharpski to kill her husband Frank Sharpski.
The mother of three children had an affair with Shores, and agreed to hire Ortega — a close friend of Shores and a butcher at a grocery store.
Ortega attacked Frank Sharpski in an alley near his home with a machete. The victim was found bleeding severely and semi-conscious by Fountain Valley police and narrowly survived.
