Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Jan. 8)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We've got a lovely day on tap...with plenty of sunshine dry conditions and temperatures running several degrees above average in many valley cities.

All of the wind advisories have also expired.

Our eyes now shift to a storm system dropping in from the north on Thursday. The first characteristic of this storm...heavy surf. The NWS has issued a Coastal Flood Statement advising on the possibility of high surf and coastal flooding as a result of the storm combined with Astronomical high tides. The advisory runs Thursday to Saturday.

As far as the storm system goes, it is a particularly cold system with some very good dynamics...but very little moisture.

We have a chance for rain on Thursday with this system and the snow level will drop down as well. The Grapevine could be a problem on Friday morning as the low moves through with the coldest air.

We should dry out for the weekend...before another inside slider drops in on Monday.
