Victim Killed In Ferrari Crash Identified As 52-Year-Old LA Man

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Ventura County Coroner Sunday identified the victim of a fatal Ferrari crash.

Mahalingam Shrinivas, 52, a resident of Los Angeles, was killed when his car went out of control, flipped several times, crashed and burned.

The accident occurred Thursday evening along a ditch on Las Posas Road, about 17 miles west of Malibu.

The Ventura County Star reported that dental records were needed to identify the victim.

Shrinivas was trapped inside the car and apparently suffocated, according to the coroner.

One person, a 23-year old passenger, was injured in the crash. The passenger has non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say several exotic cars have crashed in the area as drivers are attracted to the wide-open spaces and winding roads.
