STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Peter Marc Jacobson — executive producer, writer and director of “Happily Divorced” — discussed the show on KCAL9 News on Sunday morning.

The show starring actress Fran Drescher is in its third season.

According to Jacobson, it is loosely based on his own 20-year marriage with ex-wife, Drescher.

“TV Land called and asked Fran to pitch some shows. And they said, ‘Well, if you were to do a show about yourself, what would it be’ and she said, ‘Well, that’d be easy. That’d be me and my ex gay husband and my new boyfriend,” Jacobson said.
